A little bit of street photography…

I’ve always been really interested in street photography and capturing moments people would usually miss. A few months into my job at Wessex Photo, my manager told me about Vivian Maier and I was hooked on street photography. Ever since I’ve been out in the streets trying to capture interesting subjects and moments. I still have a lot to learn but here is my most recent street shoot.

The thing I struggle most with when it comes to street photography is my confidence. In this shoot I decided to try to push myself by only using a 35mm. I tend to shoot with a 50mm as I prefer to stand a bit further from the subject and I also like the lack of distortion for my architectural photography. Anyway, using a 35mm made me get closer to the subject. I also went on my own which allowed me to loiter and wait for the perfect scene. All these photos were taken in Bath and I’ve decided to study in Bath starting in September, so the plan is to get out every day and build up my confidence.
