The Cotswolds!
A few weeks ago, I went to the cotswolds for a week with the family. I decided to bring my trusty Leica M6 and my two Canon LTM lenses. The 50mm f1.8 and the 35mm f2. For the majority of the time I had the 50mm on as I just prefer to shoot at that focal length. I brought 3 rolls of Kodak gold, 5 rolls of Portra 160 and a few rolls of Ilford FP4+ and HP5+. However, I only shot a few rolls of Portra and Gold. For all you nerds out there, I scanned all my film using the Canon M100, 28mm Macro and Negative Lab Pro.
First stop, Bibury!
I had done a bit of research prior to coming to the Cotswolds and found this little village called Bibury. My goodness it was full of tourists but I managed to get a few photos of the old houses! It was very pretty, I do recommend!
I decided to load my camera with Portra 160 but I shot it at 100 hoping to get those pastel tones. After looking at the scans, I think I messed up my exposures a tad…
Now onto Bourton-on-the-Water…
After Bibury, I kept going and got into Bourton-on-the-Water. If you haven’t been to the cotswolds before, Bourton is your typical market town. Compared to Bibury, it’s a city! Bourton is a lovely but also crowded little town. Thankfully, there are a few nooks and crannies that have some quiet shops. With the same roll of Portra 160 loaded I went around and snapped a way!
This is where you can see those Portra colours shine! I loaded another roll of Portra 160 and something must’ve just clicked in my head but I managed to get perfect exposures so no more underexposed mess.
And finally, Cirencester!
A few days later, we all went into Cirencester to round of the trip. If you’re after some proper markets then Cirencester is your best friend. It’s such a lovely town, I got the best lemon drizzle cake from one of the markets. I decided to load my camera with Kodak Gold (it was either that or colourplus) and proceeded to take some of my favourite photos from the Cotswolds!
